​​Lessons will be held rain or shine unless severe weather forces pool closing. 

Children will be considered in the order that they are registered.

Registration will be held on Saturday, June 9th at the club.

  • Private lesson registration is at 12:00 PM
  • Group lesson registration is at 1:00 PM.

If you cannot attend registration on 6/9, please email the coaches after registration and they will let you know what is available. We CANNOT accept any pre-registrations.

​Group lessons will begin at 12:30 PM and run over the course of the day. Children will be placed in a class determined by their age and ability. The three-year-old non swimmer classes will begin at 12:30 p.m. Group lessons are geared for children ages 3-10. It is highly recommended that swimmers sign up for all three sessions. The cost is $40.00 per session, PAID AT REGISTRATION.


Each session contains six, 30-minute classes, and will be held on the following dates:

Session 1: June 25, June 26, June 28, July 2, July 3, July 5

Session 2: July 9, July 10, July 12, July 16, July 17, July 19

Session 3: July 24, July 25, July 26, July 31, August 1, August 2​​


This is how Coach Tom groups the swimmers:


​Non-Swimmer I (ages 3 and up)
Prerequisite: The requirements for this class are minimal. However, students MUST be at least three years of age, potty-trained, and able to follow verbal commands. Students who show extreme fear of the water should enroll in private lessons.

Description: This class will focus on flotation, kick (boards), breath control, arm movement and swimming independently.

Non-Swimmer II (ages 3 and up)
Prerequisite: Students MUST be able to SWIM at least five feet without assistance. Students should be able to place their entire face underwater and use a kickboard without assistance. Students should also be FEARLESS and be able to support themselves on the wall for extended periods of time.

Description: The class is similar to Non-Swimmer I, but will proceed at a much more rigorous pace.

Swimming Beginner (ages 4 and up)
Prerequisite: Students MUST be able to SWIM the width of the pool (20-30 feet) without assistance and be able to support themselves on the wall for extended periods to time. Students should also be able to place their faces under the water for approximately three seconds.
Description: This class is geared for children who know how to swim independently, but not correctly. Participants will learn how to kick, float and swim properly on both their stomachs and backs. Treading water will also be introduced.

Advanced Beginner (ages 5 and up)
Prerequisite: Students MUST be able to comfortably swim 60 feet showing a proper kick and basic freestyle arm stroke (with faces in the water). Students should also be able to hold their breath for approximately eight seconds.
Description: The kick, arm movement, breathing pattern and timing of the freestyle and backstroke will be taught (4 days of freestyle; 2 days of backstroke). Treading water will also be reviewed.

Breaststroke and Butterfly (ages 5 and up)
Prerequisite: Students MUST be able to comfortably swim 60 feet showing a proper kick and basic freestyle arm stroke (with faces in the water). Students should also be able to hold their breath for approximately eight seconds.
Description: The kick, arm movement, breathing pattern and timing of these two strokes will be taught (3 days each).​​​​

Group lessons are run and led by Coach Tom Wilkinson

Coach Tom will also run some Competitive Readiness group lesson classes again this summer. These classes are geared for swim team members ages twelve and under, with the exception of members of the mini team. Participants will receive additional training in the four competitive strokes and their corresponding kick-outs, starts, turns and finishes. Classes will be grouped by age, ability and/or gender. These classes will be held once the regular group lessons conclude. The cost is $40.00 per session, PAID AT REGISTRATION.


Each session contains four, 45-minute classes, and will be held on the following dates:

Session 1: June 25, June 28, July 3, July 6 (after AM practice this day)

Session 2: July 9, July 11 (after AM practice this day), July 16, July 19

Session 3: July 24, July 27 (after AM practice this day), July 31, August 2​​


THE BROCHURE


Competitive Readiness (ages 7 and up)
Prerequisite: Students should be LEGAL in ALL four competitive strokes and be recommended by Coach Tom before enrolling in this class. This course is geared for swim team members ages 12 & under (except minis).
Description: Swim team members will receive additional training in the four competitive strokes and their corresponding kick-outs, starts, turns and finishes. Classes will be grouped by age, ability and/or gender. The primary focus is competitive readiness. ​
