We are delighted to welcome our new Head Coach -
Dave Schroeder is a highly experienced coach, who has been coaching swimming for 25 years at clubs such as Jersey Wahoos, Voyagers, Wedgewood, Larchmont, and currently, Cinnaminson High School. Dave started his coaching in 1991 at Voyagers Swimming. In 1995 he moved to Wahoos JRA group under Wedgewood coach Jim Villa where he coached for close to 12 seasons, during that time he was invited to coach on the Middle Atlantic Zone All Star team from 1998-2004, and was named the Head Coach for the USS National Age Group camp held at Kutztown University in 1999. Dave's most recent summer swim experience was at Larchmont Barracudas from 2001-2015, where he led the team to the Suburban Swim League Championship Title in 4 of his 14 seasons and was the league runner up 6 other times.
Dave started his own swimming career at PRSC under Coach Ken Rauba so he has a deep understanding of the Flyers history and community spirit. Dave and his wife Colleen have 3 young boys, all of whom swam at PRSC last year on the mini team.
Dave is looking forward to bringing his coaching passion and experience for developing swimmers to the families and swimmers of PRSC.
Assistant Coach – Greg Wilkinson
Coach Greg will be heading up the “Minis” swim program, and working with the under-12's age group.
Coach Greg was the primary assistant coach and group lesson instructor of the Pheasant Run Flyers from 2000 until 2009 and we are thrilled he is returning to us this summer. He also swam for Pheasant Run starting at the age of five and continued his career to Moorestown High School and Towson University, specializing in the mid-distance freestyle events.
We are delighted to welcome Coach Greg back to the PRSC coaching team - his dedication to making sure that kids both enjoy every minute in the water and make the most of every minute in the water is known by everyone who’s experienced him as a coach.
Assistant Coach – Amy Schurer
Coach Amy swam for the Flyers from 1997 to 2010. She is returning for her sixth year as an assistant coach. Coach Amy graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from The College of New Jersey and was a 4-year varsity swimmer for the TCNJ Lions. She continued her education at Rutgers University Camden and now works as a certified school nurse at Cherry Hill High School West. Coach Amy is an Associate Coach for the YBCC Phoenix where she leads the Senior II Age Group and assists with Age Group I. She will be involved in coaching all age groups of the Pheasant Run program, along with instructing private lessons.
Assistant Coach – Paul Long
Coach Paul has swam for various winter club teams as well as the Larchmont Swim Club in the summer. This will be his fourth year as an assistant coach for the team. He will assist with all age groups and conduct private swim lessons. Paul is currently a member of the Rowan University swim team, where he swims breaststroke and mid-distance freestyle. He earned All-American Honors in 2016 competing at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships.
Assistant Coach - Ryan Caffrey
We welcome Coach Ryan for his first summer at Pheasant Run! Ryan is a college level swimmer, placing in the Centennial College Championships for Franklin & Marshall.
Volunteer Coach – Tom Wilkinson
We are delighted to welcome Coach Tom back in his “most involved parent/volunteer coach” position.
Coach Tom Wilkinson will be heading up the summer “Learn to Swim” group lessons at Pheasant Run.
Coach Tom has been a Pheasant Run mainstay since 1981 - swimmer (1981-1991), assistant coach (1991-2000), head coach (2001-2009) and swimming parent (2012-present).
Coach Tom’s expertise in swimming is known across the area, and this will be the only place where your child will be able to take swim lessons with him.
With over 35 years of swimming involvement and 19 years of running his “Learn to Swim" program at the Moorestown Community House, Coach Tom’s ability is legendary - making every child feel confident in the water, and building their technique and stroke mechanics from day one.
